Interroger le concept de l'identité de l'ostéopathie, tel était l'objet de ce mémoire de fin d'étude. En partant de ses fondements historiques, en traçant son évolution à travers le temps et particulièrement en France, nous avons essayé de cerner ce concept. L'enquête par entretiens menée auprès de 7 ostéopathes a mis en évidence leurs visions, et particulièrement leur attachement à la dimension philosophique de l'ostéopathie. Il en ressort l'importance accordée par ces praticiens à l'approche holistique et la place centrale réservée au patient. Les expériences de vie et les parcours de formation à l'origine de la diversité des acteurs de l'ostéopathie contribuent également à la construction de cette identité. Ce concept apparaît comme un processus en construction permanente.
Questioning the concept of the identity of osteopathy was the focus of this dissertation study. We have tried to identify the concept of ostheopathy, starting with its historical roots and tracing its evolution through time, especially in France. The survey conducted to interview 7 osteopaths who share their visions of their jobs, and more particulary their commitments to the philosophical dimension of osteopathy. It shows the importance that these practitioners give to the holistic approach and the central status of the patient. The personal experiences of the actors of osteopathy and their varied curriculae and trainings also contribute to the shaping of that identity. This concept appears as a process evolving constantly. |
